REDUCED CHARGES
Central H.B. Power Tariffs BOROUGH'S APPRECIATION The decision of the Central Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board to reduce its charges for business and hall Iighting by the introduction of a graduated system of tariffs was the eubject of an expression of appreciation from tho Waipukurau Borough Council yesterday. The council also expressed its satisfaction that street Iighting was included in the echerne of discount for prompt payment but it regretted that the charge for water-pumpxng ehould not carry the same discount in -iew of the fact that the revenue to the board from either souree was of tbe same cash value. Mr. A. C. Holms gave notice of his intention to have the matter reopened at the next meeting of the board.
