Anderson Jatdine, the former Vicar of St. Paul's Darlington Yorkshii'e who performed the religious ceremony at the Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, at Monts, France, alleged that the Chtn'ch of England inspired hostile foi'ces in the United States to persuade Ainerican eharities to abandon their sponsorship of his lectnres. He threatened to "blow off the lid and expose the real reasons" for the abdication of the exKing, leading to the disestablishment and disendowment of the church. Mr Jardine said he thought that the Archbishop of Canterbury's whole attitiide was un-Christian. He added: CiI will be a free-lanCe preacher when I return to England, delivefing talks similar to those I in* tend to give in the United States. Certainly I will talk freely in England. I do not fear the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Church. I intend.to tell the truth about them."
