MR. JAMES CONSTABLE

A very old and respected resident of Napier in ; the person of Mr Jamcs Constable passed away at his reuidonee, Fitzroy road, ' Napier, on Thuredny at the age of 73 years. The late Mr Constablo was born in Kent, England, and camo out to New Zealand 62 years ago, residing a greater part of that period in Napier. He tool: an active part in the' progress of Napier and the civic welfare of tlie town, being clectecl to tbe Napier Citv Council for a term as councillor in 1900. plumber by trade, and carried on business as such for ra any years, after wards becoming one of Napier 's best-known taxi-drivers. To 'mourn their loss, besides hia widow, are a daughter ,and one son who resides in Wellington. To them thc sympathy of a wide eirde of fnends wUl ha axtaaded.
