Visit from Toc H Male Choir

Members of tho Waipawa Savage dub were provided with an exceptionally good night' s entertaihment at the fo'rtnightly korero held last evening, the male choir from the Waipukurau branch of Toc H. paying a visit to tho hapu and assistingj with the programme. Chief Savage E. W. Chisholm presided and extended a hearty welcomie to the visitors. The programme for the evening was in the hands of Savages Strang and Yenner. The first half of the programme commenced with an item by the orchestra condueted by the musical* director, Savage V. Patteraon, followed by a song by one of the visitors, Mr. J . Cook ; an instrumental duet by Savages Chalmers (violin) and Strang, (musical saw) ; a very interesting lecturette hy Past Chief JuR on "Canberra," during which some hne photographs of views in the Federal Capital were passed round; a burlesque wrestling match between "I)on Dolittle" (Savage Chalmers}, and "Mohair" MacPherson, with Savage lt. Holt as refeiee and Mr. J. White as announcer; and "as a ooncluding number for this seetion a community sing condueted by Mr» Wadmap. •- ( ; . The orcheBtra also opened- th® fiecofLd half with a selection, the remainder ot the prograttime being furnished by the male choir and members of the Toc H party as follows : — -Choir, "Soldiers Chorus" and "Sweet and Low" ; instrumental duet, Messrs.ji Wadman (mouth organ) and' Nicholson (guitaf) ; ^Ir. Wadman senr., song; Messrs. J. Hames and J. Lunt, vocal duet; Mr. R. Nicholson, humorous etories and instrumental number; Mr. Richmond, recitation ; numbers fyy the Toc H male quartette ; the choir, "Beleagured," and "Musical Muddle" ; Messrs. Cook and, Wadman, vocal duet; choir, ''Comrades in Arms." Mr. R. Rust acted as accompanist and Mr. Wadman condueted the ehoir. At the conclusion of the progrmme the Chief thanked the members of the Tac H party for their assistance and expressed the hope that it would fce possible to arrange for a further visit during the season. Mr. Wadman replied on behalf of the visitors. The programme for the next korero will he in the hands of Savages Douglas and F. W. Holt. '
