Mr A. Kirkpatrick, of Hastings, has been appoiqted as manager of the Hawke's Bay team to travel to Carterton, on Friday for the return fixture to be played against Wairarapa on Saturday. Miss Shona Bennetts, ehampion toedancer of New Zealand, aacompanied by Mrs Horne, of the Jean Horxie School of Dancing, Wellington, will arrive in Hastings this afternoon and will be the guests of Mrs D. G. Sutherland, Avenue road. a Mr L. G. Loveday and his son, Allan Loveday, ° of Palmerston North, will arrive dn Hastings to-morrow morning for the opening of the season of the Hastings Orchestral Society on Monday evening. They will be the guests of Mr and Mrs F. J. Tonkin, of Lyndhurst road, during their stay in Hastings. Count P. F, Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, Danish Mjnister in London for the last 15 years, who is retiring at the end of this year, wdll be repiaced by Mr Reventlow, Dani'sh Minister in Stockholm. He was Charge d'Afi'aires in London from 1913 to 1919 and later permanent Under-Secretary at ihe Foreign Ministry, — British Offieial Wireless.
