Ten years ago she marriod a Spanish nobleman, then employed as a dress designer at a modest salary. tn her twenties she refused several marriage proposals because she wisbed to be sure that she' would not have a husband interested only in her money prospeets. , For most of her mamed life the marquesa, who is 39, self-willed and homelylooking, and her husband have lived quietly at Lakewood, New Jersey. They j have two children, John and Elizabeth. The marquesa 's father, Dr. Oharles Strong, once a professor of Ohicago University, is livlng at Fiesole, ItAfy. Her mother, Rockefeller 's eldest daughter Bessie, died in 1906. The £5,000,000 will be subject to death duties. Experts estimate that £3,022,500 may be levied if the estate proves taxable. John D. Rockefeller was at one time possessor of £200,000,000, but in the last twenty years he gave away neafly all of it to charities and relatives.
