Retiring Surgeon's Gift

A" generous gift of £200 for the pur- 1 !pose of establishing a library at the> [Central Police Station was made this iafternoon by Dr. William Evans on the joccasion of his retirement from the iposition of police surgeon, a post he flias ■jheld for the past 25 years. * The gift was made at a function held jto bid farewell to Dr. Evans, and the ■money will be used for the purpose for jwhieh it was given, Superintendent jRawle, Inspeetor Cameron and Chief •Detective Young acting as trustees, Dr. Evans asked that the library should be •stocked with books wihich would be iuseful to the men in furthering their Iprofessional knowledge. .
