Reorganisation Plan -j Considered •(

WELLINGTON, Last Night. In pursuance of the policy of the Government in obtaining the cooperation of those actively engaged in; an industry which the Bureau of Industry is assisting to reorganise a meetingj of flax millers and growers was heldj at Foxton to-day. All the features of i the plan of reorganisation were ex-| plained by two members of the Bureau; of Industry. j The plan was well xeceived, an'dj appreciation expressed of the practicalj assistance to be given by the Govern- j ment towards the reorganisation and! lmprovement of this . once importantj industry. The representatives presentj wero partieularly interested in the pro-! posals for the setting up of an industrial committee as provided for by; the Industrial Effieiencv Act, 1936, from a list of persons nominated by thcmselves, wihich cpmmitteo would be charged with tho administration of the plan, control of the industry thus being from within its own xanks, assisted. by thrce Government representatives. ! The meeting appointed a committee | to submit names and generally assistl ■in implementing the plan. The Indus-! itrial EfBeiency Act requires the conscnt of 50 per ccnt. of the principals ea-, ■gaged iu an industry before any plan^ ;cau be put into effect.
