Planes See No Sign of Mrs Putnam (Received 15, 8.45 a.m.) MONTREAL, July 13. The planes Teturned to the Lexington after scouring ?1,000 sqnare miles in the search for Mrs Putnam. The machines re-fuelled for the flight southward, ineiuding the vicinity of Howland Island. Gonditions enabled the sea to be scanned from an altitude of 500 feet. The Itasca and Swan are searching in the vicinity of the Gilbert Islands.
