Minisier's Expectatiois for Coming Season PLANNING ITINERARIES "If the inquiries being made of the Government Tourist Bureaux »re a, criterion, there will be a larger influx of visitors to New Zealand this coming season than in past years," said the Hon. W. SJ. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, this morning just before leaving Hastings for Rotorua,. The Minister said that the Tourist and Publicity Department, which was in the charge of the Hon. F. Langstone, had been more .than usually busy for some time now plannjng itineraries for prospective visitors. It was Mr Parry' s intention to go on to Taupo, Tokaanu and Rotorua to confer with officers of the Department of Internal Affairs on matters connected with the fisheries, .which came withdn his province. "There are several improvements to be effected in >the Rotorua distriet," saidi the Minister, "and these matters I wish to go into pesrsonally with the officers to carry them out. This is the off season, and it is the time to do things. The Government recognises the value to the Dominion of its tourist visitors, and it beljeves in seeing that they get value for their money." Mr Parry referred to the increased number of New Zealanders travelling to-day, and said that the issue of passports to people of our own country making trips abroad had greatly increased. This phase of the department's activities had been considerably extended. ' cBetter times mahe better travelling for pleasure and for business," said the Minister. "The Government is keen to see ample facilities made for citizens of the Dominion to. travel and to see gnd appreciate the beauties and enterprise of their own country before going overseas. "It widens their knowledge," he concluded; "it makes them all the more competent to speak of their country and of its remarkable beauties and assets."
