WAIROA, Last Night. In contrast to the two previous Suturdays, conditions were ideal on Saturday for the Eugby football matehes played in the Wairoa SubUnion's district competition. Two junior and one thdrd-grade matehes wero played on the Lambtun sports ground, Wairoa, and one senioi gume Avas played at Nuhaka. In the juiiior '• section Druids forfeited to Marama, The resulls were: — SENIOR. Nuhaka J ^ Old Boys 3'. Nuhaka hao an eas.V win and con\plefccy outclassecl the* Old Boys, who did jju f.j.pear to be up to their usual form. The winners pbi.-/vd hard from start to tinish, their cOmbihation being very effecfcive. The referee was Mr A. Ellis. JUNIOR GRADE. Waiau 17, Takutai-Moana nil. Referee, Mr G. MacKay. Pirates 9, Old Boys 6. Referee, Mr W. Peters. THIRD ;GRADE. Pirates 9, Old Boys 3. Referee, Mr C. Mori. TE 1TO CUP. Eastern schools defeated the Western schools, the holders of the Te Ito Cup, by 13 points to 11, at Nuhaka. Mr B. Parkinson refereed.
