PARALYSIS CASES

Melbourne Outbreak of Paralysis MELBOU'RNE, July 12. During the last three weeks twelve cases of infantile paralysis have been reported in Melbourne. One child has! died and one is so severely paralysed' that it has been placed in a respirator in the children 's hospital. Investigations into the causes since the first case was reported indicate that all the cases have a common source. All occurred in one part of the metropolitan area. The medical officer says that there is no nseful purpose in closing the schools in the district. Parents who wished to keep their children at homo; could do so.
