Ongaonga Group
The usual monthly meeting of the Ongaonga Women's Institute was held in the hall, when there was a good attendance of members. An official from the carnival coinmsttee spoko regarding co-operating to bold a bazaar or some such functiou. It was unaninxously decided to do eo. An amusing iuterlude was provided by a novelty hat parade, judging being kindly done by Mx's. Yardley, who placed Mrs. Bell flrst, Mrs. Carr socona, and Miss Bradley third. After a refreshihg afternoon tea had becix served by the hostesses, Mrs. Bell and Miss Ruston, a most interesting and instructivo talk on "Central Otago ' ' was given by Mr. Bell, who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Winners of the eompetitions for the nionth were: Lemon honey, Mrs. Carr I, Mrs. Bell 2, Mrs. Diamond 3; wood pulp flowers, Mrs. Bradley 1, Miss Bradley 2, Mrs. Carr 3. Mrs. Yardley was thanked for judging. 8 An enjoyable afternoon concluded with the singing of the National Authem.
