SONG OF THE TUI
Bush Songsters in Mangaone Valley With the gum-trees now beginning to flower tuis have made their appearance in the Puketapu and Mangaone valleys. A visit to the grounds at the Dartmoor station homestead yeserday afternoon to hear these noted bush songsters was a true delight. In the bright sunshine tuis were to be seeu hopping from branch to branch feeding upon tho frcshly-opeued blooms. Theii' melodious calls were the only sounds breaking the silence of the valley, aud the hearer could not help but be charmed with the beauty of theii* niusic as it floated down the valley. In the morning tuis were .to be heard among the gums in the church grounds at St. Michaels and All Angels, Puketapu.
