Mr. and Mrs. P. Logan Entertain

WAIPAWA, Last Night. To celebrate tlie coming-or-age of their son Rangi, Mr. and Mrs. Pura Logan, of Patangata, gave a ball in the Municipal Theatre, Waipawa, last evening. . There was an exceptionally large attendance from all parts of the province, testifying in no nncertain way to the popularity of the guest of the evening. The walls of the hall were hung with streameas of red, white and blue and strings of fiags and pennants were suspended from- a centrepiece of multicoloured balloons. From the stage, which was gaily decorated with flags and streamers, with a background of greenery, a professional orchestra provided excellent music for the happy throng of dancers. The duties of M.C. wero very capably carried out by Mr. W. J. Harris. The supper tables were decorated : with bowls of bright flowers, and a J most delightful supper was provided, to which full justiee was done by all. During the course of the evening opportunity was taken by Messrs C. G. Harker, Henry Hutana and W. J. Harris to extend the congratulations of the gatliering on having attjOined his majority to Mr. Rangi Logan, wh'o Biade suitable response. A very happy evening was brought to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne. ' ' Mrs. Logan received her guests wearing a graceful frock of deep Burgundy chiffon velvet with long, draped sleeves and having a gold belt. She also wofe a white fur cape with deep red Tose at the neckline. Among those present were: Mrs. G. Taylor, wearing a smart frock of goldthreaded navy wool marocain with scarlet corsage spray; Mrs. D. McLean, black Frenck velvet ensemble; Mrs. Guy, black evening dress with red spray; Mrs. G.
