PORT CROQUET CLUB'S ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY

The Port Ahuriri Ladies' Cro'quet Club held a very successful and eujoy-. able "500" party on Friday aftcrnoon in the new pavilion recently ereeted for the Port Bowling Club, aud which was thus used for tlie first time. The new building is a rooniy oue and should be of great advantage to Ihe club for the holding of meetings, socials, etc.' . The club captain, Mrs. G. Poppelwell, was hostess for the afternoon and welcomed the visitors, wishing them a pleasant afternoon. Some fifty ladies wore presont, including visitors frooi the Napier and United Clubs. The new club-room was prettily decorated in the club colours of green and gold, with Iceland poppies, foliage and berries. During an interval an eajoyable afternoon tea was served. Prizes for the afternoon were won by: Mrs. 'Cross 1, Mrs. Bayliffe 2. Consolation prizes, Mesdamse Fulf ord and Kennedy.
