Hastings Qnarterly Meeting The qqaj-terly meeting of tlie pfficers of the Hastings Methodist Chureli was held in the Young Women'h Itoom. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell presided over a good attendauce The presentation of the quarterjy vepprt by the pastor and circuit stewards sho\yed that good work was being dope by all oflieers in their several departmeuts. Th© bnlqncesheet, as presentcd by the tfeasurer, proved salisiactory. Miss Beale, youth oificer, presented the Bible Class report, which was n lavourable one and indicated that, despite tbe setback received by the iate epidemic the young people were all at work in their various elasses qnd clubs. Thc Sunday School report was presented by Mr. R. G. Millar, and showed au increased attendance. Several teachers, it was report ed, had resigned dnring the quarter, and all vacancies had not yet heen filled. Tlie Foreign Mission secretary, Mr. A. H. Tunnicliffe. reported the visit pf the Rev. A. H. Scrjyin and the Rev. 13. Gina with good results. and said that the collections had amounted fco close on £60. A coinmittee was set up tp devise ways of celebrating appropriately the u-eentenary of John Wesley in 1938. A report was received of the arrangertients being mac|e i'or a meeting in '-oiiner-tion with the League of Nations 'nion This was postpoued to a later i-ate. Mr. C. T Russell reported 26 ' iew subseribers for the Methodist i'inies, 'I his was the record for the Roiniiiioii . aud Mr. Russell was tonlered the eongratulations of the meeting. ior her services and also the choirmaster, Mr. D S. Sntherland. A report was received from the special coinmittee appointed to consider a call to the pastorate of the chureh which, it was expected, would be vacant in April uext. After some discussion the mattei was rcierred back to tbe comjnittee. A sincere yote of apprectatioq and thanks was passed placing, on record the services rondered to the circuit by the Rev. R. 11. Gosnell during liis terip of otlice. Alr. E. E. JBott ciosed the meeting with tlie benediction.
