The Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-op erative Association, Ltd., reports as follows. — Our annual winter sale of crutchings, held yesterday, was attended by a. fully representative number of buyers from the United Kingaom, Japan, America and the Continent, besides the Australian and Dominion mills. The total offering was 1942 bales, the bulk of which was crutchings. Some small lots of fleece wool were also included, but these were too minor to warrant special reference or quotation. Our catalogue totalled 640 bales, practically all of which was crutchings. Eager and general competition was met with, and prices, aB compared with the crutchings sale of last year, were 4d to 5d per lb up. • Our top price at the sale was realised for a super line of the Weber brand on account of Mrs k. Hales, which realised 15|d. Super crutchings made from 15d to 153d; good from 14 to 14fd; average from 12 to 13fd; inferior and seedy from 9d to lld. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was keen, with buying well spread. The bulk of our offering comprised crutchings, of which there were eorno vcry nice lots, and all through were the most attractive we have had for some years. We also offered several lots of fleece wools of mostly shabby style and seedy, but a feature of our sale was the prices paid for these lots. We sold 95 pcr cent. under the hammer.
