CAR "SPOONERS"
Vicar Raises ^ Protest at Parkiiig The bachelor vicar of Cransley, Northants, England, Bev. Greville Cooke, has raised a hornets' nest by condemning roadside spooning in motor-cars with the lights extinguished. "This habit," savs the vicar, "i« an abnse of public property. I hope action will be taken at once to prohibit the practice." Driving home from N ottingham, adds the vicar, he passed on.the short stretch of road between Glendon and Thorpe Malsor eight stationary cars, mostly with their lights off. Eeplies to the vicar 's statements camc fast and furious. Said Mr Sydney Giles, aged 2Q, oi Speneer street, Burton Latimer: "Let me remind the dear viear that! this is 1937. If be wrote to Mr HoreBelisha he would be told that it is better to spoon on the roadside stationary than attend to the noble art while driving on our dangerous roads. "Besides, if a couple have not indoor facilities, you can-st expoct them to drive around all night." Oue motorist, signing himself: fOne of the Guilty Car Owners," writes: "I personally did not notice the rev, gentleman's car. I was far too happv to notice sueh a thing, and no doubt il he was in the same happy state as I was he, too, would. not have noticed me,"
