REGENT THEATRE
"TOP OF THE TOWN"
Doris Nolan, portraying a millionaness with a rush of „rattlety-bang ideas to the head, gives George Murphy;> swing band leader, the benefit of her inexperience in creating a show for a new night club. This club is the Moonbeain Room, 100 storeys in the sky, a place that glitters with splendour and provides the background for the important action in "Top of the Town," which screens at the Regent to-night. Gertrude Niesen, radio f'avonrite and star of the Follies, siugs four of the songs. They are "Wbero Are You?" "Blame it on the Eumba," "Top of the Town" and tlio swing rhythm iinale number, "Jamboroe." Threo xuore songs are featured by Ella Logan and other niembers of the comP^dy, "I Feel That Foolish Fceling L'ouiing On," "Thcre Are Ko Tvvo YYays About It" and "Fireman, Savc my Child." The songs were composed by Jimmy McHngh and Harold Adamson. O.'he comedy of "Top of the Town" is the strong point of the offering. The laugh situations are devel* oped by ten comedians, each with a style of humour all his own. Henry Arraetta,' Mischa Auer, High Herbert, Gregory Eatoff raise the funny business to a new height. Then tJqo Three fc-ailors, Jason, Eobson and Blue, carry on from there. They are one of the daffiest crews of buffloonatics that over clowned on the screen. To make things complete, Ello Logan turns on her humorous headlights when she sings her offerings. The settings are on a lavish scale, exceptional even for Hollywood.
