Pirates and Huia Win WAIMARAMA'S BIG SCORE The third' series of games in the second round of the Hastings Hockev Sub-Association 's mid-week competition were piayed on Nelson Park yesterdayj The results were as follow:— ■ *' *
SENIOE. if Pirates ■ piayed United Gold. The game was fast and interesting, and the final result was: Pirates 4, United Gold 2. L. Macl^onald (3 goals) and Wilcock were the scorers for Pirates. — Messrs. Mardon and Rouse were the umpires. At 3 p.m. Huia met and defeated Karori by five goals to one in a game that was f ull of action. Staples (3) and Tau Hemapo (2) were the scorers for Huia, and Shuker netted for Karori. —Messrs.- Mardon aq,d MacDonald um- ; pired. The other senior game at*"3 p.m. waB a very one-sided affair. United White fielded a short" team, and were soundly trounced by Waimarama by 13 goals to three. ' For Waimarama Gillies (5), E. August r(4) and J. August, (4) were the scorers, and S. Boyle (2) and - Cousins (1) netted for United. — Mr. Parkhill was the waipiro. JUNIOK The game between Pirates and Karori was the main attraction i'n the junior grade. Pirates were the winners by one goal to nil. The goal for Pirates was scored. by Kemp. — Mr. Hunt' was an efficient umpire. At the High School grounds High School met and defeated United Blue by three goals to one. Goals for the win ners were scored by McErlick (2) and Dyer (1). Aislabie goaled for United Blue.
