Waipawa Rugby Teamu The following members of tlxe Waipawa United junior team are to be at the Post Office at 1 p.m. on Saturday to meet Old Boys at Central Park, Waipukurau, at 1.30 p.m.: — Christensen, Collett, Watson, Smith, Burwood, Hum phries, Roiri, Martin, Gair, Sheeran, Grant, Larsen, Dairs," Meha, Eobertsom McCleary, Hopkins, Fair. Gift Evening. This (Friday) evening in the Instltuto Hall, South Norsewood, a gift evening will be tendered Miss G. Murphy and Mr G. Hammond, on the eve of their marriage. Norsewood W.D.F.U. The monthly meeting of the Norsewood branch of the Women' s Division of the Farmers' Union was held at the residence of Mrs Gus Christoffersen, South Norsewood. Eighteen members were present and the meeting was piesided over by the president, Mrs J. Edgeley. The report and balance-chcet of the recent annual re-union hall was presented and both showed +hat tho function had been very successcal. The thanks of the division are due to all who helped so willingly in •naking the ball so enjoyable, with special tbmks and appreciation to those members of the Young Farmers' Club "v'uo rendered valuable assistance. Mrs A. F. Cullil'ord yave a most interesting demonstration on the quilting of cusnions, which was eagerly followed. Mrs Culhford also displayed several heautil'ul specimens of tho finished. work. She was accorded a hearty vote cf tuanks. A very amusing competition was held and resulted in Miss Christiausen being the winner of the prize, which was donated by Mrs Edgeley. Miss Christiausen douated the prize back and it was won by Miss O'Leary. A dainty supper and a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Christofl'ersen for her hospitality concluded a pleasant evening.

Ongaonga Farmers. Many members of the Ongaonga branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, gathered to hear Mr G. E. Gideon's lecture on first-aid in the Ongaonga hall. Mr Gideon dealt elearly and concisely with his subject, and thojgn one hopcs that his instructions and hints will not have to be put to practical use, the members present >houId be able to deal with any accilents should they occur. A very hearty v te of thanks was accorded Mr Gideon. * Wairoa Savage Club. The second korero of the Wairoa Savage Club for the 1937 season 'Aas held in Osler's Hall on Wednesday. Rangitira H. L. Harker was duly installed by Savage Orator, R. Rorne, in an appropriate mauner, and was w'eJl rcceived by the local Savages. i'hero were about 40 present and in addition numerous visitors, including Savage Carr, of the Gisborne Club. A vaned programme was rendered. The vicar ot' St. Faul's Church gave an irteresfing talk on "Social work in England." The korero was very successful and crowned as it was with an atmosphere of joviality, it augurs well for the rest of the season. Ormondville Golf. A match will be played on the Ormondville links at the week-end against members of the Norsewood Golf Club, commencing at 1 p.ro>. The Ormondville team. is as follows: H. O. Baines, VV. Kane, A. Edgecombe, W. A. Trask, W Whitson, W. Fike, E. G. Port, D. Forward, C.-C. Newling, H. Sands, J. Fitz-gerald, J. Gasson, T. E. Ellingliam, C. R. Williams, S. W. Ellingham and A. F. Damfiney. Members of the team unable to play should notify the secretary as soon as possible. All members of the team are vequested to bring aftgrnoon tea "plates." Ormondville Town Board. At a meeting of the Ormondville Town Board there was a good attendance, over which 'Mr H. J. Newling presided. An apology was received from the audit inspectoi\ enclosing the bal-ance-sheet, which was read and adopted, showing the board to be in a very good position financially. Accounts approximating £40 were passed. The contractor who has the work in hand, was reported to be carrying on with the metalling of the roads now Diat the weather has improved.
