Inland Highway. Tho inland highway to Gisborne v'a Hangaroa, recently taken over by the Highways Board, is now in the uiaking, and irom time to time, as opportunities offer, it is being improved. The Wairoa end, excepfc at Te Reinga, has very good. grades on it, but a good deal of improvement seems to be called for at tlie northern end. The first instalrnent, just over the border, is the.completloii of what is known as "Glansford Bridge," now open for traffic. The work was carried oxit by Mr 'I' Delaney of Marumaru. Snow in Waipawa. Altliongh the day was fine, and the sun slmiing. the vvind was bitterly cold in Waipawa yesterday, and in the earlv inoriiing a few flakes of «now fell In the town.
