EATING OF HORSEFLESH
Germany Encouraging It (Recpived 8, 1.30 p.m.) BERLIN, July 7. The authorities are popularising horse-t^ -h consumption under the fouryear pian. The Horsefiesh Guild, in the course of its first meeting at Dusseldorf; pointed out that the German's ancestors enjoyed horsefiesh on ceremonial occasions, though Christianity had discouragjed its consumption as a heathen custom. It was more nutritious than beef, veal and pork. There are now 25 horsefiesh guilds in Germany embracing 120Q businesses.
