— Preaa AsBociation.)

Extension of Association To South Island

• By Telegraph

WELLINGTON, Last JNigbt. That the fine success acliieved by the North Island branches of the New Zealand Racing Owners, Breeders and Trainers' Association fully warrnnted the extension of the movement to the South Island and promises to compiete a Dominion-wide organisation was the keynote of a conference of owners, breeders and trainers representative of all parts of New Zealand held today. JDr. E. H. B. Wilson, president of the Auckland provincial council, was elected chairman, and the meeting, which was of an euthusiastic nature, unanimously decided to establish a New Zealand Association with Mr C. E. Craig as organising secretary. Delegates from the various provinces spoke eulogistically of the work done since the inception of the organisation a little over a year ago, and stressed the important fact that the success attained was due to a constructive policy which aimed at assisting the New Zealand Racing Conference and cluba generally. a It was decided to make the annual subscription £1 for owners and breeders and 10/- for licensed trainers, each province to retain its identity with a percentage to be fixed by the executivu to form a capitation fee for the New Zealand Association. The following, national exeCutive committee to operate for the first year was appointed : Dr. E. H. B. Wilson (Auckland), Hon. G. R. Hunter (Canterbury), Messrs W. J. Wood (Hawke's Bay), A. R. Standish (Taranaki), C. W. Boyd (Wellington-Manawatu). It was decided to draw up rules to goVern the association and have the same duly registered and the executive council will meet for this purpose on Friday morning. Power was given to add to the executive the p | iidents of aiiy new branches which may be formed, and the question of the secretary going south to' organise, a? f-uggested by Hon. G. R. Jlunter, was left with the National Council.
