Toowoomba Defeated By 60 to Nil | BKISBANE, July J. The Springboks defeated Toowoomba 60 to nil. There was an attendance of 4000 and the gate reeeipts amounted to £300. The teams were: — Springboks: Brand, Lyster, White, Bester, Lochner, Yan de Vyver, Graven, Nel, Boy Luow, Martin, Yan Reenan, Sheriff, Yanderberg, Jeniiihgs, Bergh. Toowoomba: Garthe, 0. Meilwsch, Hayes, East,. E. McDonald, Mclntyre, R. Meibusch, Bermingham, Green, Gallagher, Browne, Lavers, Newman, Lee, J. McDonald. Tries were scored by Lyster (3), Yan Reenan (2), Bergh, Van de Vyver, Vand&nberg, Bester, Lochner, Jennings and Craven. Brand converted nine tries and kicked two penalty goals. The Springboks, who are improving every match, showed greater resource and backing up than in previous matches. They were not impressive early, but immediately Lochner came to centre and Bester went to the wing, play livened up. Toowoomba made tho Springboks play hurder than the Australian fifteen on Saturday, but Craven could not be kcpt quiet, Van Reenan was tho star forward. An interesting player for Toowoomba was Lee, who played for the Wairarapa Union against the 1921 Springboks. SherifE was lTurt and retired, but the muscle wrench is •ot seriou*. j
