MRS. M. M. SHEEHAN,

By the death of his wife after a briei illness Mr. J. P. Sheehan, of the Terraces Hotel, Taupo, has suffered the loss of one who has been both A companion and true partner. The bereaveinent that has come to Mr. Sheehan and his family is increased by the fact that it was only recently that he had taken over the Terraces after he and hii wife had taken a long vacation. Mfi. Sheehan, who was 45 years of age, was before her marriage well known ii Waipukurau, being Margaret Mary Wynn, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wynn, of that town; "When he was first married Mr. Sheehan coAducted a bakery business in Pori Ahuriri and with his wife made inftuy friends; Later the bakery business was given up and Mr. Sheehan acquired a leasi of the Lake HoUse Hotel, Taupo. It was here that Mr. and Mrs. ShiShaa proved themselves to be host and nOs-. tess of unusual capacity, and the popularity of Lake Hou'se mounted as tourists learned to appreciate the fine hospitality which they provided. About a year ago Mr. and Mrs. Sheehan fCtired from the hotel business to tikd a much-needed holiday, but thfeit feJ tirement was oUly temporary for thCy n*ot long ago acquired the Terrfifeei Hotel at Taupo and had ofily reCently entered into possessiofl.
