CHRISTCHURCH WEDDING OF INTEREST TO H.B.
MITCHELL — COSSAR
A wedding of considerable interest to Central Hawke's Bay was solemnised in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Christchurch, recently, when Elizabeth (Betty), only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Cossar, Spreydon, was married to William, elder son. of Mr. and Mrs. W. Mitchell, Ruataniwha, Waipawa. The Rev. Lawson Eobinson officiated, and Mr. Robert Lake was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained frock of ivory chiffon velvet, featuring long sleeves trimmed with tiny satin buttons, the square neckline being finished with a band of hand-embroidered satin. From a coronet of orange blossom and pearls f ell a long tulle veil, worn over tho face She carried a sheaf of arura lilies and freesias. The only bridesmaid, Miss Gladys Cossar, consin of the bride, wore a slightly trained frock of coral pink blistered cloque finished with a velvet flower at the neckline. and a velvet girdle at. the waist. She wore a- felt hat to match, trimmed with velvet. She carried a sheaf of pink carnations. A little fiower girl, Margaret Gardiner. wore a dainty ankle-length frock of sprigged organdie trimmed with frills at neck and hem, and bandcan of matching flowers on her head. Mr. john Mitchell attended his brother as best man. A reception was afterwards held at Beath's tea rooms, where Mrs. J. Bowden, aunt of the bride (in the unavoidable absence of the bride 's mother due to illness) received the guosts. Mrs. Bowden wore a navy frock and coat with hat of Burgundy red peach bloom felt. Her bouquet was of dark red flowers and maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom 's mother wore a navy blue ensemble with hat to match, and her bouquet was of tangerine flowers. For travelling the bride wore a navy tailored costume and navy hat trimmed with a silver buckle. • Mr. nad Mrs. W Mitchell 's future home will be at Rutaniwha, Waipawa.
