Sheep Found Killed MYSTERY AT PUKEKOHE Within the past few weeks a number of sheep in the Pukekohe district have been killed under mysterious circumstances In every instance the animals ueck has been broken. Police ofhcers are at a loss to acconnt for the killings. On the surface there appears to be no reason for the crimes. Belonging to various owners, tlie sheep have been found dead in paddocks. To date, 10 have been killed. All the sheep have been ewes in partiqularly good condition The latest crime was revealed on Friday when two dead ewes were found on the Pukekohe racecourse. Their necks were broken It appears that when a ewe is caught its neck is broken by means of a twisl or by j^sharp blow, An examination oi the bodies of the sheep has failed to reveal any sign of other injuiies, An early theory that dogs wero responsible for. the slaughter is t.hus digcounted.
