INTER-SCHOOL RUGBY

GISBORNE, July 3. Although. conditions were against good football, the annual match between the first fifteens of the Napier and Gisborne High Schools was a typicil display of school Rugby, Gisborne wmning by 11 at 5. The ground wus in a terrible condition and made handling diflicult and good movements rare. The home team was superior in -the first spell, the backs going well. Smith and Smiler were proininent, but Gair, Black and Bignell did effective spoiling work for the visitors. Napier improved considerably iu the second spell. The forwards in great dribbling rushes swept the length of the field, while Coutts and Cummins were effective in the backs. Gisborne 's points were all gained in the firtet half. Gribhcn (two) and Harris scored for Gisborne, one being converted by Smiler. Gair scored for Napier and Cummins converted.
