Hastings Harriers' Sixth Annual Rnn WINNER NEVER HEADED On Saturday - the Hastings Harrier Club held its sixth annual club championship of 6J miles over two laps of the championship course from. the Hastings racecourse. The weather conditions were far from perfect during the race, and this, combined with the heavy state of the ground, did not favour any fast times. From a good start, H. E. Tayior immediately went to the lead which he maintained throughout the race. At the end of the first mile he led Anderson by 10 yards, and they were followed by Hunt, ■ Robertson Barter, J. Dyer and A. Tayior in that order. At the 24-mile peg the order was :• Tayior lead- | ing from A Tayior by 200 yards, followed by Anderson, I. Dyer, Hunt and Robertson. Along Southland road on the second lap the order was: H. E. Tayior, A. ; Tayior, Anderson, Dyer and Hunt. Tayior continued to increase his lead and finished about 400 yards ahead of A. Tayior.' THURSDAY DIVISION, On Thursday the Thursday division held a massed run of about six miles from the Heretaunga Dairy Co.'s factory. The trail led down Maraekakaho road and veered across country in an easterly direction, finally coming out dnto Pakowhai road and then going back to the factory. On Thursday the club is to hold a sealed handicap. race from the racecourse over one lap of the championship course. The race is to start at 2.30 sharp, and a cordial invitation is oxtended to anyone interested to attend the race.
