TAKAPAU STILL ON TOP IN C.H.B. RUGBY

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. By defeating Omakere by one point, Takapau maintained their two-point lead in the Central Hawke's BayRugby Sub-Union's seuior competition on Saturday aittrnoon. Nest on the list is Waipukurau, which defeated Otane by 14 to nine. Footbail was played around the district under extremely muddy conditions, d«*pite which the play was of a very high itaidard. The most decisive win was gained by Porangahau, who defeated Oio Boys by 19 points Resnlts at a Clance. At a ghn.ce, Saturday'e result«» were as fcllows; — SENIOR GRADE. Waipukurau (14) v Otane (9). Porangahau (19) v Old Boys (0). Takapau (9) v Otane (8). JUNIOR GRADE. Te Aute (31) v Waipukurau (7). This was a inon-competition game Te Aute having iormally forfeited because their team included some seniors desiring practice. Otane (10) v Takapau (6). Porangahau (14) v Waipawa (0). THIRD GRADE. Old Boys (23) v Waipukurau (3).
