OBITUARY
Mr. Gerald FitzGerald Tbe death has occurred suddenly at Wellington of Mr Gerald Fitzgeraldj aged 80, civii engineer, architect, accountant and eompany director. He was well known in Wellington business cirqles. From 1874 to 1894 be waa attached to tbe Public Works Department and played a considerable part in the construction of many of New Zealand's roads and railways. MRS E. E. G0DDARD Mrs Emma Elizabeth Goddard, a former resident of Taradale, passed away last week at Hamilton East afc the age of 72 years. / Mrs Goddard was tbe eldest daughter of tbe late Mr and Mrs J. W. Brown, of Taradale. Sbe was born in Wellington, and came to Taradale a)s an infant witb her parents. In 1908 ebe and her husband went to live in Kawhia, in the Waikato, and they were engaged in farming there until 1926, when they nioved to Hamilton. Mrs Goddard is survaved by her husband, seven sons, two daughters and 22. grandchildren. She has a number of relatives in the district.
