CENTRAL H.B. GOLF
Notes on Recent Play Play over the week-end in Central Hawke'a Bay was rather marred by Saturday 's weather which resulted in rather poor ecoring on the Maharakeke links. ' Several championship matches were played. A major upset dn tbe second round of the senior championship was provided by Gladstone Wilson when he defeated Teddy Kuru, one of the favourites for the event, to the tune of 4 — 3. Wileon has ben showing good f orm this year and in a f ow years must be hard to stop in the tournaments. E. Billington, another very promising young player^ carried a few too many guna for V. Bradley, who, however, put up a good uphlll fight on the second half and A. S. Wilder proved a bit too solid for I. Wn. Mackie.
