Offended Against Nazi Decree

(Reeeived 2, 1.0 p.m.) BERLIN, July 1. Dr Martin Niemoller, leader of tho Confessional Movement against nasdfication of the Evangelical Church has been arrested on. a charge of announoing from the pulpit the names of maui* bers of his congregaticm who havo aeceded from the church, such announcement being forhidden by the Minister of the Interior. Dr Niemollier, preaching on June 27, said that 48 memuers of the Confessional Movement had been recentl^ arrested. An official communique conflrming the arrest of Dr. Niemoller states: "He has for a*long time nsed the divine serviee and other church activuties to deliver provocative speeches against leadiag persons of the State and the Nazi Party, to spread untrue reports about church conditions in Germany and to incite disobedience of laws and de« crees. "
