WHANGAREI, Last Night The Northland flood may have a serious effect on Hikurangi as it is possible that the new colliery, which. is still in the developmental stages, may be closed. The mina is flooded out atid all the ptulips have been lost. Three men eseaped in the nick of time, being assisted to the surfaee by ropes. The possibility of the mine never working again is being discussed as it will take a big sum to dewater it
