June Rainfall Amonnted To 2.99 Inches HASTINGS WEATHER The half-year just ended has been 4 drier period than the first six months of last year, according to figures supplied by Mr. H. N. Fowler, of Hastings. Rain fell on 14 days during June, the amounts being as follow:— June 2, .11; 5, .01: 6,° .04; 7, .50; 8, .01; 13, .08; 16, .44; 17, .08; 23, 1.15; 24, .13; 25, .01; 26, .14; 27, .03; 30, .26. The total for the month was 2.99, compared with 4.70 inches for June, 1936. The total for the six months ended Wednesday was 8.69 inches, which compares very favourably with the fall of 30.18 inches for the corresponding period in 1936. The prevailing winds for, June were N.N.E. on two days, S. on 10 days, S.W, on 10 days and W. on two days. There were 15 frosts, the lowest being of 10 degrees. The mean temperature for the month was 45.54, and the range of temperature 19.0. The highest maximum temperature (in screen) was 72.2, the lowest maximum 28, the lowest grass 20, the mean maximum 55.4* the mean minimum 36.4, and the mean grass 30.3.
