Interim Report To Be Issued

CHRISTCHURCH, Tbis Day, "It is evident that the need in some cases is so urgent that the committee is giving eerious eonsideration to the question of issuing an interim report to the Government so that action can be taken without delay," said Dr. D. G. McMillan, ehah'irian of the committee of inquiry into maternity services, in an interview to-day. Members of the committee returned to Christchurch last evening after taking evidence and inspecting hospitals on the West Coast. Dr. McMillan said that it might be three months before the committee woTild be in a position to present its rnain report to the Minister of Health, as there was still a large area of the Dominion to be visited, but in orcler that urwent cases oould 'receive inunedlaie iittenbion, it was cousiderj.pg issu- , i»S an interim report.
