A decree replacing tke Monetary Act, 1936, wkick brougkt tke last devaluation of. tke franc into effect, says that tke gold -value of tke franc will be fixed later. The relation of tke "franc to foreign currenciea- will be regulated by tke Stabilisation Fund until- tke conditions of convertibility Of- the' Bank of Franco notes into gold are decided. Tke franc, therefore, is being unpegged irom gold, and will foliow1 tke pound in finding its own level, and will not be convertible into gold at any fixed level.
