Some of the winners at the recent Waipa meeting are likely to be heard of later on. Two of them are by Gen'eral Latour, Te Monowai being a three-year-old filly from Te Ngeru while Besiege is by the same sire from Rikorikp. Killadar, a winner over hurdles, ie by Kilbroney (imp.) — Abbey Day, which comes from a great jumping family. Mai de Mer is a three-year-old full brother to Floodtide, being a chestnut gelding by Tidal (imp.)— Sicilian. Gay Rebel, by Gay Shield .(imP') — Mabel Bell, is a. promising sort. So also is Day Wind, by Whirlwind (imp.) — Merry Day.
