Christchurch Objects To Amending Constitution
(By Teleara.nl^>(-
CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The direct afS.liation to the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association at the discretion of that body of any amateur cycling club which does not wish to affiliate with the provincial centre is tbe aim of a proposed amendment to the constitution of the association, notice of motion concerning which has already been lodged. The alteration will be strongly opposed by the Canterbury Amateur Cycling Centre which sees in tbe move a strong possibility of divided control of the sport in the various districts. The subject is bound up with the centre 's longstanding dispute with the Avon Amateur Cycling Club, prominent officials of which have been suspended by the centre. Arrangements made by the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association for the presentation of the respective cases in this dispute at a meeting to be held in Wellington on July 5, have also come in for criticism heve.
