ADCKLAND, Last Night. The death and burial at sea of one of the passengers on the motor ship Matua, was reported when the vessel retutned from tho Cook Islands. The passeuger was John Fernie Roberts, a 38-ye.ar-old farmer i'rofn the Taihape district, who was luaking a round tvip in the Matua. He left Auckland for Rarotouga on June 17, and on the morning of Jtiae 19 tho steward fouud Mr. Roberts had taken ill. As there was no doctor on board the ship, a wiretcss messago explaining the patient's symptoms was sent tp the Auckland hospftaj and advice as to treatment was setit back by one of the medical stafl!. Mr. Roberts dled seven hours later, however and was buricd at daybroak on thnext day.
