Dance at Hatuma. With a view to raising funds for the Takapau queen candidate, a dance is to ' be held in the Hatuma Hall on Friday' evening, July 9. The committee is making a thorough job of the arrangements and assure patrons of a pleasant' evening 's dancing. The music wili be played by the Buffalo Orchestra. The subscriptions are 3/- for gentlemen and 2/- for ladies.' FdotbaH and Basketball. A team of footballers and a basketball team from the Waipukurau D.H.S. visited Dannevirke oh Saturday .to play the Dannevirke High School teams. Waipukurau lost in both ca'ses, but the hospitality shown the visitors amply made up for the loss. The basketball team were beaten by 14 goals to six and the footballers by 38 points to five. The teams were aceompanied by Messrs E. M. Marshall, E. J. Kedgley and Miss J. Lindsay. The visitors were taken home to lunch by the Dannevirke pupila and tea was provided at the school.
