To-day 's jr singles, which were played at Ainijjaale in incessant rain, resulted:— -H. ipcard (U.S.A.) defeated A. J. Lacey JfBritain) 2 and 1; G. Sarazen (U.SA.) defeated P. Allis (Britain) 1 ®p; Dudley (TJ.S.A.) defeated A» P®rry (Britain) 2 and 1; H, Ootton (Bfitain) defeated T. Manero (D.S.A.) S aAd 3; D. J. Bees (Britain) defeated Ipelson (TJ.S.A.) 3 and Ij Snead (B.J? A.) defeated B. Burton (Britain) £ and 4; Guldahl (IT.S.A.) defeated A. . H. Padgham (Britain) 8 fend 7; S / King (Britain) halved with D. Shutw (U.S.A.). Samuel Byder, for eompefrition between a team of British professipnal golfens and a team of Ameriean professionais. The trophy was flrat competed for id 1927. In 1929 the original con» ditio Were varied to conflne the British Medm to British-born professionals reswnt ih Britain and the Ameriean ieafl to American-born professionals resiaent in the tJnlted States, in the yeaf of the match. The contest takes place in alternate years, each country bfting Visited in tura. So far the "Abericans have retained the cup in every contest.
