Strickland Beats Barlund LONDON, June 28. Manrice Strickland (the Neiy Zealander) gained the decision against Gunnar Barlund, who was disqualified f6r Iholding in the seventh round of a ten-round bout at Earl's Court. Barlund attacked early but Strickland used hls right effectively. He held his own, exchaiiging punches freely. Barlund continued a fast, two-handed attack, but with little success owing to Strickland 's clever defence.
