FAT CATTLE PRICES Outstanding Puketitiri Entries FEW HEIFERS YARDED To-aay's market for - fat cattle at Stortford' Lodge showed a .return to nonual rates from last week's ahnormal price levels due to a short yarding. To-day 's yarding eonsisted of 239 station-hred lines and 50 Jersey sorts. The entry of. 24 young .cows, on ae» count of J. Holt Ltd., and farmed hyf Mr Gordon Holt, was of exceptional quality. These cows, which had heexf fat for several months, showed extrai prime quality and averaged for - a med^ ium-f ramed liiie the splendid figure ojf £8 15/-. This offering reflected howf well cattle have done this season in thd Puketitiri distriet. Mr Nelson Lane'# Aberdeen Angus bullocks, off his Wai* puna station, Puketitiri, • mad© to £15 4/-. The best ox beef to-day made tdf 32/' per 100 lb., with other sorts no€ showing the same finish, . 29/- to 30/* per 100 lbs. Heifers were in short supply to-dajj as compared with the plentiful yarding last week. Most of the. pens wera small grown and unfinished, one extrsj prime young line making 30/- per 100 lbs. Aged cows showing condition wera not chea^, making 20/- to "21/- per 100 lbs. Unfinished plaia ' quality sbrtf wero slow to sell due to better qual* itjjr entries being more -■ plentiful.
