GYMNASTIC CLUB

Waipawa Junior Men's Meeting WAIPAWA, This Day. The annual meeting of the Junior Men's Gymnastic Club was held in the Gymnasium, a fair number of the members being present. The chairman, Mr G. W. Eobertson, opened proceedings by thanking members of the club, and particularly the committeemen, for their loyal co-operation during the year. In presenting his report, the secretary and treasurer, Mr E. Hercoek, showed that the year had been one oi considerable activity, ineluded in which was a very successful parents' and f riends ' night, besides a display of tumbling and vaulting horse work at the entertainment for the tennis and bowling queens. During the year the membership had increased from 11 to 20, which was a large increase considering that four of the original members had gone to other districts. The instructor, Mr D. S. Chalmers, stated in his report that it was with feolings of great satisfaction that he reviewed the progress of the previous year, and pointed out that all members of the club without exception had greatly improved in their execution of many of the tricks and exercises. With a cantinuation ■ of the present ebthusiasm, he said that he had no fears whatever that the display contemplated in August woudl be a great success. The statement of income and expendituro showed a balan. o if £2 15/6 with rent and all accounts paid up t-o dato and after spending about £3 on additional equipment. The following officers were elected for the year: - Chairman, Mr G. W. Eobertson; secretary and treasurer, Mr E. Hercock; committee, Messrs W. A. Collett, E. Maulder, E. James; instructor, Mr S. D. Chalmers; sub-lead-ers, Messrs G. W. Eobertson and E. Hercock.
