KIDNAPPING CASE

Father and Son Guilty NEW YORK, June 24. ■ At Newark, Ellis Parker, senr., and Ellis Parker, junr., were found guilty of kidnapping Paul Wendel. The jury recommended lenieney. Paul Wendel, wkose "confession" that he had murdered the infant son of Colonel Ch&rles Lindbcrgh gained Hauptmann three days' respite, was kidnapped by four mcn early in 1936. One of these was Ellis Parker, junr., son of a well-known detective, who held Wendel prisoner Wliile transporting him from New York to New Jersey. Later, the two Parkcrs surrendered to the Eedcral authorities, the father being released under "bait of 25,000 dollars and the son 10,000 dollars.
