(By Telegraph-
(Received 26. 11.30 a.m.) LODDON, June 25. The New Zealand cricketers watched the tennis matches at Wimbledon. Stedman had a long struggle against Grant, the American, who, handicapped by an injured ankle owing to a fall yesterday, continued pluckily, despite another fall, to-day. Stedman played exceliently to win the first two sets. When the seeded Americatx went ahead in the third set, Stedman apparently decided to take a breather and lost the set 1 — 6 , Stedman came agaxn in the fourth set but never headed Grant, who, despite his lameness, continued manfully- and won the ninth gsxme after three dueces to lead 5 — 4 and took the next set with the next game. Stedman was unabie to produce the form of the early eets and Grant' s steadiness, versatiiity and courage bfought him a well-deserved win in the fifth set. McGrath was superior all round and consistently out-manoeuvred Shayes. Prenn ied 5—1 in the second set against Parker, after which the American with versatile tennis wore down the veteran who fought every point.
