Telegraph Messenger Succumbs

AUCKLAND, Last Night. Fatal head injuries were suffered by, a motor-cyclist, Yictor Percival Yates, a telegraph- messenger, aged 17, of Ponsonby road, when he came into collision with a motor-ear driven by Christian Henry Dubi, a farmer, of Haupai, at an intersectiOn. Yates was riding along Ponsonby road and came in contact with the front of the motor-car which was'travel- ■ ling in the opposite direction across Ponsonby road into Pollen street. Yates struck his head on the radiator of the car and was thrown heavily to the pavement. He was unconscious when picked up and died before the ambulance arrived,
